Westborough's John Bogaert will be sleeping outdoors again to raise awareness for & donations to
Hello everyone!
We are gearing up for our 4th annual homeless winter sleepout event.
This year's event will focus on youth homelessness throughout the state. Our beneficiary will be Horizons for Homeless Children. Their mission includes leading the fight in Massachusetts to help alleviate the trauma and stress of homelessness on both children and their families by providing high-quality early education, vital opportunities for play, support for parents, and crucial advocacy on behalf of some of our most marginalized citizens.
I recently had the opportunity to tour the Horizons facility in Boston and was very impressed with the work that they are doing to help homeless children both today, and in their future. It is very difficult to comprehend all that a child endures, along with everything they miss out on while being raised in a homeless shelter. From birth to age 5, a child's brain develops more than any other time in their life. Statistics show that early trauma and stress in those first 5 years often leads to developmental delays that can turn into more serious issues throughout their life. When left unaddressed, these issues can become the catalyst for adult homelessness. Horizons provides the facility and services to help reverse this repetitive pattern. Please donate today and help us break this cycle of homelessness by giving these children a strong start they need and the best opportunity for a bright future.

Thank you
Sincerely,
John Bogaert
Event Information- Four participants will spend all day outside in the parking lot, collecting donations and spreading awareness, at 45 Colonial Plaza on East Main St., Saturday March 2nd. Then we will sleep outside in the parking lot overnight to raise money and awareness for those experiencing homelessness throughout the state.
Thanks to the students in the Help the Homeless Club at Westborough High School, who will once again be assisting with and promoting the event!
No one should be left out in the cold.
